About Me

My photo
Ever since she was a little girl, Laura has always been striving to learn and grow as an artist. She is constantly creating and trying new mediums and ways to express herself through her art. Laura has had the great opportunity to learn from amazing artists as she worked to earn her Bachelor Degree in Studio Art and a double Minor in Humanities and the Theater Arts from Brigham Young University in Idaho. Since graduation, she has worked in Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom as a costumer and is now currently working as an art teacher at Kendali Studios. Though she has accomplished much, Laura feels that there is still so much more for her to learn and develop both artistically and as a person. She is happily taking one day at a time as a new opportunity to improve and share her works with others.

Costumes

In College I was chosen to be one of the two costume designers for our play The Tempest. The characters were divided between us. These are my costume designs. I did not sow these pieces, but I did make the accessories, illustrated each piece, designed the stage make-up (and applied), and the hair design for each character. The Seamstress followed my illustrations and we both worked side by side to make each piece beautiful.

For this costume, I did not make the mask but the artist followed my illustration. Everything else is my design.

Here are a few sketch designs of some of these costumes. These are rough drafts. Some you will recognize and others you will not. The ones you do not, were scratched but still fun to look at.
